The Meaning of Life
Carol is from Edinburgh, and John from London. They migrated independently to Australia in 1967 and 1971 respectively. They met in Sydney in 1971 and married in 1972.
They have three fine children; Andrew (1974), Simon (1975) and Lisa (1978).
John & Carol have lived together in Sydney (Cremorne, Dee Why and Mona Vale), Perth (Padbury), and Broome (Cable Beach).
Carol has always been a Primary Teacher and John always worked in Computers (Lloyd's Bank, Ampol, Qantas, R&I Bank, BankWest and Unisys West).
In late 2006 John was burnt out from a working life in IT, and Carol needed a "new" knee. John and Carol took the opportunity to take early retirement, and move to Broome.
They are now both actively involved in many volunteer organisations:
Carol:
President of Broome Lionesses, Treasurer & Social Secretary of Broome Sailing Club, and in a couple of craft groups.
John:
Broome Volunteer Sea Rescue Group (boat crew and Treasurer), Broome Historical Society (museum volunteer, Secretary and computer “whiz”), Broome Sailing Club (sailing, Secretary and Safety Officer) and Broome TeleCentre (Treasurer).
